Recognised Excellence: Our Firm’s Accreditation Journey
Simply Legal Secures Cyber Essentials
Simply Legal have successfully secured the UK Government backed IT accreditation, Cyber Essentials. Cyber Essentials confirms we have effective measures in place to secure our clients data and funds to essentially protect us against cybercrime.
As part of securing our accreditation we were required to demonstrate a high level of adherence to cyber security. This covers aspects of security such as secure configurations, boundary firewalls, internet gateways, access control and admin privilege management and malware protection.
The National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) represents UK Police forces to work in partnership with businesses to tackle crimes against businesses; they have commented that “Cyber threats are ever present, growing and do not discriminate by business sector or country borders. The UK Government has an ambition to make the UK the safest place to live and do business online. Cyber Essentials is a key tool in realising that ambition”.
Following several high-profile reports of cyber-crime, we believed it was vital to recognise cybercrime as an actual threat to us and for us to take appropriate steps to mitigate against the risks. Saveeta Kaur, Managing Partner of Simply Legal, commented: “Our clients are at the heart of everything that we do, and we have invested heavily in our cyber security strategy to protect them in the best way possible. Given the nature of our business, we felt it was important to protect our clients with the strongest IT security possible. Achieving the Cyber Security accreditation is the beginning of our journey that we are taking as a firm to ensure that we continue to protect our firm and our clients”.
